Our Amazing Human Body!
For Science Week, 5th class delved into the Human Body- we were amazed by some of the facts!
We discussed why our bones are cyclinder in shape and not rectangular or triangular..this is because weight spreads out evenly over a cyclinder shape as there are no corners. We tested this out using paper structures- look how much weight they held!!
We also explored the functions of our tendons and bones in our hands using straws (bones) and string (tendons), in order for the bones to move the tendon must be pulled.
Finally, we created diagrams of the digestive system using art materials.
Did you know? Your small intestine is about the length of 5 classroom tables put together!
