It's been a while since these special cups were played for! These blitzes are extra special because the pupils of 6th class managed the teams and also tried their hands at refereeing and umpiring the matches! A huge well done to those 6th class volunteers. They encouraged the young players on their teams and did very well for beginner referees! Congratulations to the teams that were victorious on the day. (Both 'Maroon' teams , by coincidence!) The pupils from 2nd,3rd and 4th were very impressive! A special thanks to Lamberts for sponsoring medals for all of the girls. Very kind of them and much appreciated by all of the players. A big thank you also to the Ardfinnan Football Club for their financial and many other supports during the year. Ballybacon Grange Hurling and Camogie Club are also always hugely supportive....which we are so lucky with and so grateful for. Lastly thanks to Paddy Noonan for having the Green in such great state for all the people who use this wonderful resource. We were honoured to have him present the John Brennan Cup this year.
