Earth Day Ambassadors!!!
Earth Day happens every year on April 22. It started in 1970 and is a day to raise awareness and do positive things for the environment.
Third class discussed this topic and had an opportunity to think of ways they could make a difference, no matter how small. The boys and girls came up with loads of practical ideas they could implement, from planting vegetables to reduce food miles to using reusable shopping bags, upcycling old tired items, donating to charity, planting trees or even organising a community litter collection. It was no surprise to find out that Ruby Lonergan and Kai Burke took it upon themselves to take action. They organised a litter picking event around their estate and eagerly got to work ridding their local environment of rubbish. I hear it is going to be a regular event!!!!
Well done Kai and Ruby!! We have given you both the title of Earth Day Ambassadors and it is well deserved. Keep up the good work. Our planet depends upon it!!
