Conor excels in Showjumping
A Big Well Done to Conor who represented himself and his school with great pride showjumping in Cork recently. Conor has a great passion for showjumping and wrote us an account of his day. We look forward to seeing more from him in the future.
"On Friday the 10th of March we travelled to Sceilg Equestrian Centre in Cork. I had to get up at 7am to wash and platt my pony Belle. I aslo had to help my sister with her horse too and finish packing the jeep. When we arrived I walked the course to learn where all the fences were from number 1 to 13. Then I warmed up Belle in the practive area. When I heard my name being called to line up for my turn I go a little bit nervouse but excited too. The girl before me fell off so that didn't help my nerves. I went iunto the arena and the judge called out on the microphone, "Now in the arena we have Conor Hyland on Acrehill Belle". She rang the bell and then I started to jump the course. We jumped a super double clear round against the clock and I finished 7th out of 35 competetiors with a time of 28.34 seconds. We had a great day out and I can't wait to represent the school again soon". Conor, 5th Class
